Simple ideas to increase your website revenue

By Kevin McNally

Your website may be full of quality content and products but it is important that you keep the content fresh and updated and you let your customers know about any new developments. Your customers should be visiting your website on an almost daily basis if you have your marketing campaign on track with new offers and promotions. The most popular websites online have unique fresh content on a daily basis and success leaves clues so take note of this.

You want to visit the websites of your competitors regularly. Do they have something you don't? Is it attracting customers? You can adapt other sites' innovations to suit your own website. Never turn down a good idea just because you did not think of it first.

Think about your website revenue sources, is it a great idea to put advertisements on your website ? You need visitors to focus on a call to action on your own products rather than another website offering a similar product . Of course if you have an affiliate partner offering a quality product that enhances your offer then it may be worth considering but you should track the return on investment of any traffic leaving your website of course.

Ask friends to look at your website and give you an honest appraisal of its clarity and ease of use. If they tell you they found it confusing or lacking in information that would lead a customer to buy, it may be time to hire a professional to revise your site. This can be money well spent if it leads to more visitors following through and making a purchase.

Of course every website has all the necessary information regarding ordering your product but you should consider a blog or even a social network such as twitter or facebook to offer your customers special offers and keep them updated on new products. You may also want to introduce coupon codes or free shipping to entice customers when business is slow or you have a lot of products to shift.
