Cambridge is a city one can visit during any season, as there are tons of things to see, regardless of whether you are visiting in the winter months or during the summer.

If you were to ask anyone about their top five list of things to do in Cambridge, they would start by punting. Punting on the river Cam became a popular activity many years back and remains popular until now. A number of tourism companies in Cambridge offer this service. One reason why people go punting in Cambridge is so that they can have a tour around the seven riparian Cambridge University colleges. The University Colleges have a fascinating history and are among the most highly esteemed educational institutions in the world. Cambridge River Tours is the only punt company in Cambridge worth their salt if you ask this author, so there are high chances that people have heard of them, making it easier to find by asking around or looking for their details online.

No visit to Cambridge would be complete without a visit to one of the best and most famous attractions to witness in the city, that is of course King's College of Cambridge. This college was the established in 1441 by the great King Henry VI. For many years it was renowned as being a private university that only allowed admission of students who belonged to traditionally acclaimed families. The chapel that is situated exactly perpendicularly to the rest of King's College took almost ten decades to build and is the only part of the original grand plan for the college that made it to completion. These historical buildings make the city feel proud and beautiful thanks to the minute architectural detail done on the buildings. The Great St Marys church also needs special mention as its tower offers one of the highest vantage points in the city, allowing you to see the views for miles around on a clear day.

Anyone planning to explore Cambridge should also consider including the Cambridge American cemetery and memorial. The place is secluded in a quiet place and is beautifully kept. The carved words are thought provoking and you might even get emotional. The place is just perfect and humble for remembrance. It is really a good place for remembering the people who died during the wars in an effort to save the country.

The ADC theatre and the Peter House College theatre are some of the oldest theatres of Cambridge, a city which is renowned for its various events and plays. These buildings were established in the 19th century. The Wimpole hall was the home of the daughter of Rudyard Kipling which is now manage by the National Trust. The Wimpole house farm established in the 16th century and located near the house is a model farm. Wimpole hall is situated 13 miles away from the farm and visitors can witness a country side village view walking if they can walk the entire 13 mile distance.

Last but not least is the University Museum of zoology, one of several different museums in Cambridge. This amazing place has lot of things to look at. The place has lot of bones from different animals like hippos, cats, dinosaurs and many other animals. The best thing about all this is that it is free so you really do not have to worry about stretching your budget. If you have every gone there, at the birds sections, you will be able to notice the two large kiwi bone samples which is amazing because kiwis are generally small in nature.

Cambridge is a wonderful place famous for its architectural beauty and the beautiful scenario of the city. It is a wonderful place to visit and explore with your family.
